1927, Solovki Prison Camp, appealing group of 10 postal cards printed locally at the camp, three of them unused, including seven different designs, some censored at the camp in blue crayon, franked and posted outside at the post office of Kem, slightly mixed condition as to be expected. A quite extraordinary group, some cards featuring sketches from the famous painter and inmate Osip Braz; this remote camp was set up on the Solovetsy Islands on the White Sea, it earned the nickname “Mother of Gulag” by Solzhjenitsyn
1958, Mendeleev Congress unissued 40 k. Butlerov with the special congress blue overprint, mint never hinged, very fine. A very scarce stamp
